Carmauto creates “Unclaimed Business Listings” to help Customers discover automotive service providers such as mechanics, mobile technicians, and auto repair shops, even when those businesses have not yet created an official Carmauto account. This policy explains how unclaimed listings are created, displayed, and managed, and how business owners may claim or correct their listing.
Use of the Carmauto Platform (the “Platform”) constitutes acceptance of the Terms and Conditions of Use (the “Terms”), which incorporate this Unclaimed Business Listing Policy.
Carmauto may create public or unclaimed business listings using publicly available information such as business name, address, service area, phone number, website or social links, operating hours, and general service categories. This information may be gathered from public business directories, manufacturer or dealer listings, websites or social media pages, lawful data aggregation, scraping of publicly accessible web pages, or other open-source databases.
Carmauto does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any information displayed in an unclaimed listing.
The presence of a business in an unclaimed listing does not imply endorsement, partnership, sponsorship, or affiliation with Carmauto, nor does it indicate that Carmauto has verified the business or evaluated its quality, safety, legitimacy, or services. Unclaimed listings are provided solely for informational and review purposes.
Business owners may claim their listing at any time. To do so, an authorized representative must contact Carmauto or complete Carmauto’s verification process, which may require proof of identity, proof of business ownership or authority, matching contact details, or applicable licensing or registration documents.
Upon successful verification, the business may update its contact information, operating hours, photos, service descriptions, and pricing; respond to reviews; and otherwise manage its presence on the Platform by converting the listing into a verified Carmauto profile. Carmauto reserves the right to request additional documentation or decline a claim if ownership or authority cannot be confirmed.
Business owners may notify Carmauto of inaccurate information by contacting:

Carmauto may correct or update information in good faith but is not required to remove factually accurate public information.
Customers may leave reviews for unclaimed listings if they provide acceptable proof of service, such as a receipt, invoice, work order, estimate, or similar documentation. All reviews must comply with Carmauto’s Review Moderation & Verification Rules.
Carmauto does not guarantee the accuracy of customer-submitted documentation, the accuracy or truthfulness of any review, the authenticity of the reviewer’s identity, or the completeness of automated verification tools. Carmauto may remove, restrict, annotate, or reinstate reviews at its discretion and may request additional documentation before publishing.
Business owners who have not yet claimed their listing may still contact Carmauto to challenge a review, request correction of factual errors, submit supporting documentation, provide context or clarification, or begin the listing-claiming process.
Carmauto may, but is not obligated to, edit, annotate, restrict, or remove a review if it determines, under its Review Moderation & Verification Rules, that the content is false, misleading, unverified, or otherwise policy-violating. All moderation decisions remain within Carmauto’s sole discretion and are final for Platform purposes.
The compilation, arrangement, enhancement, and presentation of listing data on the Platform are proprietary to Carmauto. Businesses, Users, and third parties may not copy, scrape, bulk- download, redistribute, or reuse Carmauto’s listing database or reproduce proprietary formats or categorizations without Carmauto’s express written consent.
Carmauto is not obligated to remove accurate and publicly accessible business information. However, Carmauto will evaluate opt-out or removal requests on a case-by-case basis, especially where a listing is inaccurate, the business is permanently closed, the listing poses a verified legal, safety, or privacy concern, or the business is misrepresented in a way that cannot be corrected.
Carmauto may, but is not required to, disable a listing at its discretion.
