These Review Moderation & Verification Rules (“Rules”) govern the submission, display, verification, moderation, editing, and removal of user-generated reviews (“Reviews”) posted on the Carmauto Platform (“Platform”). These Rules exist to protect the accuracy, transparency, reliability, and fairness of the review ecosystem, safeguard Users from misuse or harassment, and protect Carmauto Inc. (“Carmauto,” “CarmAuto,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) from liability associated with third-party content.
Reviews help Customers share their experiences with Mechanics, Vendors, and Products listed on the Platform. Carmauto moderates Reviews solely to ensure lawful, relevant, and policy- compliant content. These Rules do not obligate Carmauto to review or monitor any particular content.
These Rules are incorporated into and form part of the Carmauto Terms and Conditions of Use (“Terms”). By posting, viewing, or interacting with Reviews, Users agree to these Rules and all incorporated Policies.
Only Users who have either completed and paid for a Service or Product transaction through the Platform or uploaded documentation demonstrating a qualifying transaction with a Mechanic, Vendor, or shop listed on the Platform, may submit a Review.
Reviews must relate exclusively to the User’s own first-hand experience and may not include hearsay, second-hand accounts, speculation, or unrelated complaints (e.g., complaints about individuals not involved in the transaction).
Reviews submitted by ineligible Users or without sufficient proof may be delayed, rejected, removed, or not displayed publicly at Carmauto’s discretion.
Verification may include internal transaction logs; receipts, invoices, work orders; or other documentation Carmauto finds credible. Verification confirms only that a transaction occurred and does not endorse or validate the Review’s content, accuracy, or factual claims. Carmauto does not investigate the truth of statements contained in Reviews.
Carmauto retains full discretion to determine whether evidence is sufficient and may revoke verification if documentation is later found inaccurate, altered, or unreliable.
Reviews must be truthful, based on the Reviewer’s direct experience, and compliant with applicable law. Prohibited content includes:
Users represent and warrant that all statements they publish are truthful and based on their own experience. Submitting knowingly false, exaggerated, fabricated, or misleading Reviews constitutes a material breach of these Rules and the Terms and may result in removal, account suspension, or legal action.
Carmauto may pre-screen or post-screen Reviews through automated tools and human moderation. Carmauto has exclusive discretion to publish, decline, edit, reorder, annotate, label, retain, or remove Reviews, with or without notice. Moderation decisions are administrative and final for Platform purposes.
Carmauto may edit Reviews to remove confidential information, personal data, profanity, threats, or material violating policy or law. Carmauto is not required to notify Users of these edits or removals.
Users may submit one clarification request within seven (7) days of a moderation decision. Carmauto may choose to review or reinstate content but has no obligation to do so; all reconsideration decisions are final.
Carmauto is not obligated to preserve or disclose internal moderation records but may retain logs, evidence, and communications for compliance, trust-and-safety, and audit purposes.
Users may not create, coordinate, solicit, or manipulate Reviews in any way. Prohibited conduct includes:
Any attempt to distort ratings or deceive Users constitutes fraud, may result in removal, account termination, and legal recovery of damages and enforcement costs. Any false or misleading Review under Section 4 is deemed fraudulent.
Users must comply with the Federal Trade Commission’s Endorsement Guidelines (16 C.F.R. Part 255). Reviews submitted in exchange for compensation, discounts, or incentives must be clearly disclosed and may be removed at Carmauto’s discretion.
Failure to disclose benefits or posting Reviews under misleading circumstances may result in removal, suspension, and reporting to relevant authorities. Users are solely responsible for compliance with endorsement laws.
Carmauto may edit Reviews for clarity, grammar, policy compliance, or redaction of identifiers. Carmauto may reorder, highlight, summarize, group, or suppress Reviews based on relevance, recency, fraud patterns, or safety concerns.
During technical upgrades, migrations, or archiving, Carmauto may modify or remove reviews permanently. Carmauto bears no responsibility for any unavailability, formatting changes, or loss of Review content.
Carmauto does not guarantee that Reviews will appear in chronological or algorithmic order and may use automated systems to classify or detect suspicious or unverified content.
Carmauto may remove or reassign Reviews that are clearly posted to the wrong business, Mechanic, Vendor, or Product. Carmauto may request documentation to verify the correct business identity. Users must cooperate in correcting misattributed content.
Review disputes must be submitted within fourteen (14) days of publication and must include the review URL, reasons for the challenge, and supporting documentation such as order numbers or communication logs.
Carmauto may choose to remove, edit, annotate as “contested,” or retain the content unchanged. Carmauto is not required to remove any Review and makes no promise to adjudicate factual disputes between Users. Review dispute outcomes are final for Platform purposes.
A refund determination under the Dispute Resolution & Refund Policy does not require or imply Review removal, and Review outcomes do not determine eligibility for refunds.
Reviews represent subjective opinions of Users and do not reflect Carmauto’s views or guarantees. Carmauto does not verify the accuracy of Reviews and is not responsible for mistakes, omissions, misstatements, or falsehoods contained in the Reviews.
Carmauto disclaims all liability for any loss of business, goodwill, revenue, or reputation arising from Reviews or moderation decisions. Carmauto makes no warranty regarding the availability, accuracy, or reliability of the review system.
Carmauto is protected by 47 U.S.C. § 230 and shall not be treated as the publisher or speaker of third-party content. All editorial actions or omissions are expressly protected and made without assumption of liability.
Carmauto retains full editorial control and may refuse, modify, hide, reorder, suspend, or remove any Review, Reviewer, response, or listing at any time, for any reason or no reason. Publication does not imply endorsement, and removal does not imply fault.
Carmauto may modify, amend, or replace these Rules at any time. Posting updated Rules on the Platform constitutes notice. Continued Platform use constitutes acceptance.
These Rules are governed by Delaware law.
If any provision of these Rules is determined to be invalid, the remaining provisions remain enforceable to the fullest extent permitted. The provision in question will be replaced with a valid provision that most closely reflects the original intent.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, any provisions of these Rules that by their nature should survive will continue in full force and effect after: (a) removal, editing, or suppression of any Review; (b) termination, suspension, or closure of any User Account; or (c) modification or replacement of these Rules.
Without limiting the foregoing, the following obligations will survive: (i) Carmauto’s license and usage rights in and to Reviews and other User Content; (ii) all disclaimers, limitations of liability, and reservations of rights; (iii) User representations and warranties regarding the truthfulness and lawfulness of Reviews; (iv) User obligations to cooperate in review-related investigations or disputes; and (v) any indemnification or dispute-resolution obligations arising under the Terms that relate to Reviews or these Rules.

By posting, viewing, or interacting with Reviews on the Platform, Users confirm that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Review Moderation & Verification Rules and all incorporated Policies. Continued use constitutes an electronic signature and acceptance of this binding agreement.
